Position Summary
The Front-End Loader position is responsible for safely providing continuous salt feed to salt processing. This includes managing the stockpile to eliminate high walls and sink holes. This function requires excellent interpersonal skills and self-motivation to interact directly with customers, drivers, rail crew, and salt wash personnel. The operator must work independently and be self-supervising while keeping the process coordinators and supervisor appraised of significant issues. The functions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Rotating shift work with OT potential
Testing/Certifications/Training Required:
Front-End Loader Trained
Required Experience Level:
Previous experience or education demonstrating the ability for proper operation of Front-End Loader.

Front-end loader
Dozer
Skid Steer
PPE Required:
Safety Glasses
Ear Plugs/Muffs
Company Uniform with High Visibility.
Hard Hat
Steel Toed Boots and Metatarsal Guards

Essential Duties:
Responsible for all stockpile functions and salt feed to the salt plant.
Push salt with the bulldozer as needed
Load bulk rail cars
Load open-top trucks
Support the Road Salt loader
Inspect and report on salt belts condition and mechanical issues
Perform accurately to prevent costs associated with product and machine damage
Ability to follow through on all standard work instructions
Required Skills:
Front-End Loader, Dozer, and Skid-Steer Certified or trained
Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively
Ability to read, understand, and follow policies and procedures
Ability to communicate via radio communication
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Dozer Trained
Skid Steer Trained
PC literate
Experience in a process plant in the mining / minerals industry is preferred.
Stockpile safety
Belt conveyor knowledge.
Physical Requirements Level: Moderate
Physical Activity
Required to sit for long periods of time
Constant use of hands to finger; handle or feel
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
Must be able to speak and hear effectively
Required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch
Depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus in day and night conditions
Weight/Lifting Requirements
Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Can team lift up to 100 lbs.
Reading/Writing Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to have the following requirements:
Communicate effectively written and verbally in English
Close vision for observation of the machinery and belts
Basic computer knowledge, typing skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret job related information
Environmental Conditions
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be exposed to the following environmental conditions:
Extreme Heat
Extreme Cold
Work near moving mechanical parts
Wet/Humid Conditions
Fumes and/or airborne particles
Vibration
Noise Level
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will typically be exposed to a high noise level. Proper Personal Protective Equipment is provided for all employees and is required as part of the job.
